Isaac Yoder

Born of glitter and star dust in the Willamette valley, Isaac Yoder has been makin' it his whole life.  Isaac enrolled in OCAC's BFA program in 2005. While drawing and painting was his official concentration Isaac was also heavily involved in the fibers program.  Working in an interdisciplinary manner Yoder's work varies from two-dimensional image based work, to object making, and installations.  The artist currently resides, and works in Beaverton OR.

As children we are told that we can be whatever we want to be -- that we are the contractors of our own lives — that we have the power to construct our destiny.  So we dream; of fiscal vitality, happiness, love, maybe even fame.  But as I step into adulthood I am confronted by the fact that life is not like the television shows and T.G.I.F. sitcoms I watched so religiously as a child.  While I dream of monetary success, happiness and love, I am confronted by a complete ignorance of how to cultivate, and obtain those dreams. And then I’m left to make things…
